Transition to Google Analytics 4 (Urgent)
Google has long announced the final date. The time has come to switch to Google's relatively new tool for analyzing data on our websites and e-shops!
On July 1, 2023, Universal Analytics will be discontinued and will stop collecting data, making it imperative for all e-shops and websites to transition to the new generation of Analytics, Google Analytics 4 (GA4).
This was designed based on upcoming changes in data measurement.
GA4 has received considerable criticism from professionals due to its differences from Universal Analytics and its complexity in relation to other analytics systems. Nonetheless, its capabilities surpass those of Universal and it is continuously improving with new features, such as measuring conversions once per session. Additionally, the ability to create reports within the platform significantly facilitates the discovery of more complex metrics.
In summary: The new update for GA4 offers more room for adaptability and customization. An example is the creation of audiences that Google Analytics 4 offers and their direct integration with Google Ads. This provides immediate targeting to warm audiences further down the funnel at any time!
However, it also increases the complexity in implementing the system, such as tracking for ecommerce compared to the process in Universal.
